Picspam: SG-1 recast

Okay, I totally didn't plan on doing the recast challenge at [livejournal.com profile] stargateland .  I do NOT pay attention to celebrities.  It really doesn't interest me so I had no idea who to cast.  But I was bored and I said if I found time I'd try to get it done.  This was just totally for fun and in no way do I think any of these actors could replace any SG-1 stars.  These are so totally random.  I was kind of glancing at the shelves full of movies and wondering who I could recast and these people popped out at me.

The Rock as Teal'c.  Hey, he can already do the eyebrow.  Not sure the Rock could play a straight face, though.

Haha, Topher Grace as Daniel Jackson...he's got the geek thing going on and doesn't look half bad in glasses.

Collin Ferguson as Jack O'Neill.  He's got the ruggedly good looks and can pull of the comedy.

Yeah, if Chris Judge couldn't do it, the Rock would be a good choice. It's so ironic that Teal'c can be so stone-faced, when the actor who plays him seems to be someone who can only be serious for the shortest of times.

I agree that Collin Ferguson could do a good job of the comedy, and has the big rugged body that we associate with O'Neill, but what I think he lacks it the ability to look truly dangerous. When RDA plays dark-and-dangerous Jack, he can truly look stone-cold and capable of cold-blooded murder, with those deep-set hooded eyes hidden below the brim of a hat or behind those glasses, and a blank face. I don't think Collin Ferguson's face can quite equal that. But for a "random" pick, he's pretty damn close.

In the picspam Topher Grace looks like a good match, but I'm afraid I've never actually seen anything with him in it, so I've never seen him move/act nor have I heard his voice, so I'm not qualified to pass judgement on his fitness.

Amusing and edifying post.

True about Collin...I definitely don't think of him as scary. But it's a start. He's nice to look at, though.

Topher banked his career on playing the nerdy, dweeby kid that just doesn't fit in. That was his entire character on That's 70s Show. But he's branched out some...playing the bad guy in Spiderman 3 opposite Tobey Maguire.

Just looking at the pictures I found (and I really only picked the one from his 70s Show days) it reminds me of Daniel as he moved through the show from real geeky at the beginning to just being damn hot with a side of geek. Topher doesn't quite have the hotness but he's not the biggest geek ever any more, lol.

I think I analyzed that a little too deeply.

And on the subject of Chris Judge and the Rock...yeah, I think it would be about the same on set of trying to get either one to keep a straight face long enough. Watching some of the videos my husband has of the wrestling and I remember laughing because the Rock was supposed to be serious and he couldn't hold his face for more than a minute. Although, he's played some pretty serious rolls in the past so I think he could do it. Would be fun on the set, though.
