Talk about being fed up with big companies.
Some might remember my rantings months ago over our abysmal cell phone coverage from T-mobile and our inability to switch carriers because of HUGE contract breakage fees. Well we ended up saying screw it and switched to Verizon at the end of June. Which taking it up the ass in fees ($200 per phone).
Well my husband is looking at a statement from them today and it was for almost $800. WTF! So he calls them and talks to several different people. What they tell him is there is the $400 early termination fee, plus we owed them $100 for June (right, we knew that and paid like $30 or something last month...obviously not the amount they want but whatever). Then they tell him the rest is for late fees from our payments due in April and May.
My husband just about hit the roof. See back then the payments were being autimatically withdrawn from our checking account. There is no fucking possible way they were late. They are trying to screw us even deeper. We even have the statements from our bank that shows $104 was deducted on 4/11 and 5/11.
The first lady argued with him for 10 minutes insisting we didn't pay those months and there were late fees attached. He demanded to speak to a supervisor and argued with her for another 20 minutes before being transferred to someone else. Eventually it was settled to $533 which sounds closer to what we owe.
How much you want to bet that when we get a statement from them next month it's still for $780.
