That line just kind of popped out of nowhere. I had written the thing about the horn blowing and had to pause to do something. I came back and reread what I'd written and my first thought was a grumbled, "something blows," and I knew Sam needed to say that. I actually had to rewrite the paragraph a little so that it fit better.
