OMG! Never buy sisters matching shoes

Just don't do it because the 10yo will say it's wrong for both of them to wear them to school the same day and demand the 8yo take hers off.  Then she'll throw a huge tantrum when the 8yo says she doesn't want to take them off.  Then the 10yo will scream in her face and say they made an agreement to not wear them the same day and SHE wants to wear hers to school today.  The 8yo will shrug and say, "so".  Then mom will mention that they are her shoes and she can wear them wherever and whenever she wants which will cause the 10yo to go into a tizzy where she throws her shoes across the room and says she isn't going to school.  Mom will notice she's not wearing socks.  That causes the 10yo to scream more about the 8yo taking her socks and that she has no clean ones even though Mom just did "all" their laundry last weekend (supposedly...the floor of their room says otherwise).  Then she will start screaming about how it's not fair that the 8yo gets to choose which shoes they wear to school because she can't possibly wear those matching shoes on the same day as her sister.  Then she will throw herself on her floor, kicking and screaming.  When Mom goes in to get her up because she's going to miss the bus she will run into the bathroom and lock the door and refuse to come out because she will be in more trouble.

Finally after 5 minutes of screaming she will throw on dirty socks that don't fit and the offending shoes and run to make it to the bus so she won't have to walk the 2 miles to school.

So, whatever you do, don't for the love of bob buy sisters the same pair of shoes no matter how much both of them want them.
