scrapbook pages: the kids

Here's another page showing off the kids when they were little.
small
And I mean "tiny".  Oh my, they were so little and cute.  That's Meagan in the middle on her first day of preschool in 2004.  She was a little over 4 years old and so itty bitty.  Her bookbag was one of those small ones that don't fit a full sized folder and it was big on her.  Owen wasn't quite 3 in the picture and he's already as big as her and Brenna was 22 months and up to Meagan's chin.

Here's another one of Meagan on her first day of Kindergarten.  That's a regular sized kiddie bookbag she's wearing.  It was HUGE on her.  She was barely 39 1/2" tall (that's 3 feet, 3.5 inches) and was a measly 32lbs.  The size of a 3yo and she was 5.  In comparison Nora is currently 5 1/2 and is 44" tall and 35lbs and she's kind of on the small side (although she used to be tall, she just isn't growing up any more).  Nora hasn't fit into that dress Meagan is wearing since she turned 4.  And she wore the dress from the first page when she was 3.

progression
This one you can see how much she's changed from preschool to 4th grade.  The dress she's wearing in the 3rd grade pictures...Nora was wearing that the other day.  It fits her perfectly just like it fit Meagan when she was 8.

So I've just gotten into this whole digital scrapbooking thing and I'm wondering - do you use pre-made pages or do you design these yourself (either way, they look spectacular) - and who are your fave designers for embellishments???

I'm working on a wedding scrapbook for my little sis and I've been slacking on all that (I was going to try to have it done by their 1 year on 12/26, but no luck...)

I do all mine from scratch although I've used a few templates where the layers are all set up and you just have to add papers and embellishments to the page. I prefer to design my own.

It's been awhile since I scrapped so I'm not sure who is even designing any more. I used to belong to a few creative teams where we got the designers newest kits ahead of time to create layouts to post with the release and to advertise. I'm pretty sure two of those designers have retired.

I used to create for ScrapKitchen Designs (http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=22). I liked her shabby soft look to the kits.

And for creashens (http://www.catscrap.com/shoppe/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=26). Her kits always have fantastic embellishments. Usually pretty good prices, too.

Most of the designers at < href="http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/">the digi chicks are great. I used to buy from there a lot but had kind of drifted away when I was on creative teams for other designers. When I went back I found all my pages I posted gone in a fluke gallery accident so I stopped posting there. They've also changed a bunch of designers but I love almost all of their stuff there. But it depends on what you like and the skill level you are at.

And Shabby Princess (http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp) is always good for free kids if you like that look.
