bombing at Boston Marathon

I was cleaning the house a little while ago and when I sat back down at the computer the first thing on my facebook feed was this:

Boston_Marathon_Explosio12_t640
http://www.columbian.com/news/2013/apr/15/explosions-reported-boston-marathon-finish-line/

Holy crap. I think my mind went completely blank when I read the headline then filled up with one thought:
My cousin, Lee, is running that marathon. Then I kind of freaked out and had to scan back through my feed to find something from the family.

Thankfully he is okay. Him and all his friends had finished already and all are accounted for. They got in touch with someone to spread the word. My cousin Chad was the one to the info to the family. What did we do before facebook? Phone trees would have taken forever.

This is horrific. My thoughts go out to the injured and their families and to those who lost someone today.

I'm still kind of shaky.

I just finished a project last week for a young client whose mom had to miss her prom Saturday because her mom was running the marathon today. I left her voicemail. I don't know if her mom's okay.

This is really freaking me out. Poor Boston. :(

Yikes! I'm so glad your cousin and his friends are okay. I have family there too; they weren't running but some of them work in that area. Luckily they all seem okay too. It's so awful that this happened. :( My heart really goes out to all who were there.
