So my friend/client released her cover preview on Twitter, so I guess I can let you guys see what I did.



This is what she finalized. I'm contracted to do the back, plus the fronts/backs/ of the other 3 books in the series, a rework of another cover I made for her a while ago, plus several unnamed project.

Thanks. I'm sure a professional with better software could make something much cooler, but I like simple designs anyway. I'm trying to do cover #2, but the picture is in black and white so I'm having trouble getting the coloring to match this one (which started in brown/yellow tones). Grr.

LOL. I have no idea what the books are about. I just design the covers. Maybe she'd send me a free copy of each one just to have my design on my shelf.

This is great!! I love the play on color - splashes of red against a grainy-type background gives it a sinister look, which goes perfectly with the title. :) Really, really nice!!!

Her original color scheme was black, white and red, but the title just worked so well like that, I had to use it again. I was glad she liked the blue tinting. The original was earthy colored which didn't look bad, but the red didn't pop as much.

She's all excited about it and posting it all over Facebook and Twitter. She liked my draft of the second cover, although I don't think it's as good as this one. It needs work, but I think I can fix it.
