Tuesday TV Catch-up [spoilers]

Cleared out some of my DVR today.

Being Human--I'm really liking this show.  I mostly like the guys when they're interacting with Sally, the ghost.  I was a little shocked at Jack's animal side with the nurse.  Didn't help that her name is Nora (which happens to be my 4yo daughter's name...a bit squicky there).  Of course, he was a big ditz and just runs out.  I felt really bad for Aidan, though.  He was really connecting with the kid and his mom went all postal on him.  It's just so hard to be a vampire these days.  I like seeing them just try to deal with every day life.

Stargate Universe--I'm going to be sad to see this show go.  I never got hooked on it like SG-1 but it has its own merits and I'm not invested in the storyline and really want to see more.  I like that they're utilizing the supporting cast more.  IE the scientists.  I like them more than the military side.  I'm really starting to like Young, though.  He's coming into his own as a commander.  Loved the scene with Rush, Eli, Volker and what's his face (can't think of the other guy's name off hand).  They accepted the compliments knowing that Rush must not mean them or had some ulterior motive.  They looked a little freaked that he was being so nice to them.  Those poor guys get slammed by him constantly.

House--OK!  HUGE episode.  Cuddy thinking she might die, House being his typical moronic self, Wilson trying to stay out of it, Chase and Foreman getting involved (somewhat).  And then Cuddy breaking up with him.  I didn't see the whole vicadin thing until she brought it up and House had that "deer caught in the headlights" look.  At least he didn't try to deny it.  But I wanted to cry as he realized she was breaking up with him.  He sounded so desperate, begging her not to do it.  She had to know that would push him over the edge.  My heart was breaking for both of them.  The dream sequences: were just weird.  I liked the first one with House and Wilson raising the kid.  Although, I'd like to think if House was put in that situation he'd try a little harder.  That's probably wishful thinking, though.  The musical  number was just plain weird.  It was like a Lady Gaga video, lol.  Freaky.  The previews for next week were even more heartbreaking.

Still have V to watch.  Was going to tonight but then realized my husband would be home in like 20 minutes and then he'd whine and complain about me watching something he has no interest in.  I had kind of stopped watching this after the hiatus.  I don't know why but my DVR ended up erasing the first 1 or 2 episodes from when it started back up again.  But the other day I was bored and had nothing else to watch so I decided to put it on and watched the previous 5 epis.  Now I'm hooked again.  I'll try and watch it tomorrow before the kids get home.

Saw there was a new Bones this Thursday.  Can't wait.  :)

SGU has given us a look at how people in the Stargate program are affected by what they do. SG-1/SGA were more action/adventure type programs and we saw very little of how their day to day lives were affected by some of the things that happened to them. We get to see the flaws of the people aboard the Destiny much more on display.

The Volker/Brody interaction and the whole scene with the drone was the typical Stargate franchise humor we've seen. I was thinking of Daniel and Sam trying to reprogram that space mine when I was watching it. :)

Maybe that's why I liked the episode so much. There was that touch of humor with the drone...no one wanted to touch it. And the whole scene where they're trying to fix the shields and it blows up on them. It's like...what else could possibly go wrong for these people. And then they've got Rush insulting them and Young on their cases. Yet they keep plugging away at it. All while wearing the same clothes they've worn for over a year.

It took me awhile to get into the show but I was willing to give it a chance and by the end of the 1st season I was interested. I'm really sad to see it go because I think it does have potential. The action and pacing seem better now. I liked the whole battle scene. It was gritty and things exploding and their chances of survival were low. Leave it to Eli and Rush to figure it out in the end.

I haven't seen the new SGU yet, but have it ready to go on my iPod. *g*

I did actually watch this week's House--I haven't been watching it at all, but someone told me it was huge and I had to see it... so I caved. I kinda liked the absurdity of the dream sequences, but didn't catch on to the idea of House using to be there. I thought it made a lot of sad, sad sense, though.

The dream sequences were funny. The musical one was baffling and my husband is like...she's in recovery, you dream of some weird shit coming out of it, lol (he had back surgery a few years ago so I guess he'd know, I've only had spinals where I'm awake so...)

I really didn't catch the drug use thing. I was just as shocked as he was that she broke up with him. Not really sure he can take much more. It was sad, though, that he couldn't cope with what was going on without the drugs (and had been doing pretty good up until then).

And Cuddy had so much faith in him at the beginning of the episode. That exchange with Chase was chilling. She was SURE House would eventually show up and he did but then she realized he was wasted and it all fell apart. I feel for both of them. Can't wait to see how they deal with it.

This is probably one of the few shows I watch that I actually want to see my ship happen. The other ones, like Bones, I'd rather they not get together because it ruins the dynamic of the show but you know even if House and Cuddy are together he will do something asinine to screw it up causing more tension. Tension is good.
