Did you know...

Did you know that if you accidentally splash Diet Coke in your eye while taking a drink (don't ask) that your first instinct isn't to swallow?
No...your first instinct is to spew it all over your keyboard and monitor while you jump up and knock your chair over, clutching at your eye and thinking WTF!

Yeah, did that yesterday.  My eye still kind of burns in the corner and now my keyboard is suffering.  I cleaned it off as best I could and it was working pretty good last night but after sitting all night and the soda soaking in...grrr.

Now the buttons on the right side are sticking.  Mostly the M, N, L and B.  The other keys seem okay but do you know how much you use the letter L in normal "conversation"?  The shift on that side is sticking a little, too, and, although, I type with both hands like you are supposed to I've never been able to get my left hand to use the shift key so I always use the right no matter which keys I'm using.

Very frustrating.  I'm about ready to just write everything in lower case.  I am so not in the mood to pry off all the letters to clean it better.

Stupid Diet Coke.

I have had keyboards in the past where if you disconnected them, and took a slim screwdriver and carefully and gently pried upwards, the keys would pop off, and you could use distilled water to clean under and around where they were, and actually clean the keys themselves. Then when all pieces were thoroughly dried (24 hours recommended) you could pop the keys back on, and - hey presto! - all better!

It's worth a try if it keeps being irritating, but definitely don't use any appreciable force, since not all keyboards are designed to allow it.

Yeah, mind pop off. Well, I've gotten the space bar off before because something got underneath it and was messing it up. It was a pain to get back on, though, because it had this little wire attached that was spring loaded and had to be a certain way under it. Took me awhile to figure it out.

The more I use it the better it gets. Only a few keys are sticking now because they don't get used very often (mostly some of the numbers).
