I hate insurance companies

We have had some issues with our insuance company over the year but really have never had much to complain about because we still pay very little for our health insurance (about $50 a month for a family of 6).
Our latest run in with them is over Owen's allergy tests. Back in April he had a reaction to some cats at a pet store so we took him to the doctor. They said he needed some allergy tests to make sure. So dh took him to the lab we always go to but they told them they lost their contract with our insurance company and to call them. So we did. The guy he talked to comfirmed what the lab tech said and told us where to go. So he had the tests done (found out he is very allergic to cats and dogs and has some seasonal allergies--poor kid).
Well, yesterday I opened the statement from our insurance company and it says it isn't covering any of the charges because we didn't use a network provider. WTH! They specifically told us to use this lab and now they are saying it isn't covered. So now we have to fight it because we did what we were told. The bill was for $454.
They need to get their info straight, I swear.
