Well, it only took all freaking day but I finally finished chapter 15 of "Homecoming" and decided to make it the official end of the story for now. There is so much more I want to put into it. But I had to end it somewhere. I just don't have anymore time. I'm going to have to pull the other story I started. There are only two chapters and I can't stand to leave it unfinished on the site. Oh well. Writing "Homecoming" has given me all sorts of ideas to spawn other stories off of it. My first thought (and still one of my better ideas) is to write the story again, but from Steve's POV. What was going through his mind when he finds out that Hyde was his dad? The story could look more into what was going on with the kids after Hyde came back.

I also thought of doing one from Donna's POV. Hyde was one of her best friends and he disappeared. She had spent a long time trying to convince herself that he wasn't dead. He broke her heart as much as Jackie's. I'd like to see what she really thought about all of it. Plus I had an idea to break her and Eric up when she realizes she is falling for Hyde. That might throw a kink in the works for him and Jackie. (Don't worry, I wasn't planning on splitting Jackie and Hyde up after all it took to get them together.)

And the one other thing I want to explore in one of the stories is Fez and Kelso. I got to thinking about it after the scene at the beginning of the story where they fight over their kids. I had just watched the episode where they fight over the girl cop and they "break up." They are hiliarious. And then today was the Kelso sex dream episode. Sometimes I wonder about those two, so I thought maybe they would descover after all this time that they had been in love with each other. That was what made them fight so much over little things. It wouldn't be some smutty, slash type storyline--just normal, two people realizing they are in love type of thing.

anyway...I'll have to work all of that out some other time.

---------------
Other then work on this story until 2am (when will I learn) I spent most of the morning outside with the kids. Now I have sunburn. UGH. I didn't put any sunblock on today because I had planned to stay in the shade, but then Kelly came out with Hailey and Maddie and we got to talking. And then I was talking with Patsy on her porch. I didn't realize I was burnt until I was back in the nice air-conditioned house. My face itches and my shoulders ache. Brenna and Owen got burned too and I put sunblock on them. Owen has this one patch on his shoulder that I must have missed. Brenna is red all over her chest (I put some ther but obviously not enough) and parts of her shoulder. She just squirms so much it is hard to make sure I got every part of her. Hopefully they won't be too sore tomorrow.

Well I better get off the computer. It's a quarter after two now and the kids will be banging on my door in about 5 1/2 hours. WHEN WILL I LEARN. :(

I finished chapter 14 of "Homecoming" like a good girl. Thos girls on the 70s fanfic site are crazy about this story. Like any good author--I think my own work is crap. But they keep coming back for more. Bless their little hearts. I ended up having Steve confront Hyde about his intentions towards Jackie. It was getting to easy for Hyde. I just decided I want to mix it up a little and I think I will have Donna open up to him about her marriage and confess that she isn't happy with Eric. We'll see what happens from there.

----------------------------------------------

I thought of an idea for another story tonight. I actually got the idea a few days ago while me and Kelly watched the kids play in the back yard. She was watching Maddie and we invited Amanda from across the street. (That girl always looks so sad and lonely.)

Poor Owen. Five girls and one boy. He didn't seem to notice much but that got us talking about ten years in the future. In ten years Meagan will be turning 15, Hailey will be turning 16 (as will Amanda), Owen and Maddie would be 13 1/2 and Brenna would be 12 1/2. That would be one crazy group of kids. Owen would be all frustrated because all of his friends would want to come over just to check out his sisters and their friends.

I'm not sure I'm looking forward to that stage. Having three kids in a row didn't seem like that big of a deal when they were babies but--3 teenagers. We are going to be in trouble.

Anyway, I was thinking about that today as I watched the kids play in the sprinkler. They have such unique personalities already. So my story idea is to take their budding personalities and transpose them into characters that are teenagers. Like for example:

Meagan's character (called Stacey for now) will be strong willed when she is with certain friends (ie her closest friends) but when she in a group of older girls she falls back and follows whatever they do. She is esentially a sheep. BAAA. She will be self-conscience and shy.

Brenna's character (called Lily) will be a true tom-boy, not putting up with any crap from anyone. She will be strong-willed but also sensitive.

Get the idea. I was hoping to maybe do some character studies for each one. And then maybe come up with some story lines.

These are the characters so far.
the girls: Stacey--15
Lily--13
Taylor--16
Heather--16
Amber--14
Gina--16
Samantha--14
the boys: Jay--14
Nick--16

I think I will have Gina, Heather and Amber be kind of the bitchy, mean girls in school (not saying anything about the original child--this is fiction after all) and have the other have to deal with them.

That is what I have so far.

----------------------------------------

Now for the rest of my day--ugh. It was so freaking hot today. Just last week I was putting sweatshirts on the kids and today they were in bathing suits and playing in the water. It got into the 90s and Dad decided to put the air conditioners in. I wasn't going to use them because we won't have them in the apartment and I didn't want to get used to them. (gosh that was a long sentence) But the last few nights I have gone to bed soaking wet from sweating up here in my room. So tonight the AC is on and I am all comfy, sticky with sun block, but comfy.

Yes, you heard me, sunblock. I hate it. I feel so icky but I didn't get burned so that's cool. I would be in a totally different mood right now if I that had happened.

The countdown:
6 days until we move. YIKES. 6 days and I lose my internet. What the hell am I going to do then. I haven't gotten any more packing done because the kids don't let me do anything and I have to get this damn story finished before we move or those chickies will kill me. I think I'll lose my mind sometimes trying to remember everything I have to do.

On that note: I better get my butt in gear. Once again it is almost midnight and I still need to shower (if it wasn't for the nasty sunblock I would just skip it and sleep in my comfy big bed, but YUCK)

Well, that's another day down. Just a million more to go before I die, tee hee. Gosh I'm tired, and sticky. It is so damn hot up here. It's really not bothering as much as it usually does though. I kind of use it to my advantage while I'm writing--the quicker I get the chapter done, the quicker I can get out of here.

I finished chapter 13 of "Homecoming" finally. I tried working on it all day but the kids kept coming in and bugging me about every little thing. They want to watch Incredibles so damn bad but then when I put it in they are up here bugging me because "he hit me" and "she took this" and blah, blah, blah. It's just so repetitive.

Anyway the chapter is done and Hyde and Jackie had thier second 'first date'. I have so much fun writing those two. They are so easy to get behind. They both put on that tough act but deep down inside they both care more deeply then most people. I guess I can write that character because it is me. I have always been the one to put on the show of not caring. It is just a cover though, most of the time. I was probably the zen of my group of friends in high school.

I remember this one time--I think we were seniors and all my friends were freaking otu over midterms and I sat back and watched them study and mumble to themselves and cry. Deirdre was having a full out panic attack because she forgot her book the night before and hadn't been able to study. I felt for her, I really did, but I just kept my cool. I told her it would be okay and she went nuts.

"It's not going to be okay. I didn't get to study. I'm going to fail this test," she cried. I just looked at her with my neutral expression.

"Well, if you fail," I told her, "then you'll just have to work harder to make it up. It's not the end of the world."

"But my parents are going to kill me," she mumbled, tears streaming down her face.

I snorted and looked her straight in the eye. "Well then you'll be dead and you won't have to worry about studying anymore, will you."

That got her attention. For a split second she stopped crying and pondered what I said then went back to her books. Some people might have thought I was uncaring but I wasn't. What else could I tell her? That was Di, though. She was always freaking about something. She was such a perfectionist that any little mistake set her off. I hated seeing other kids make fun of her and stood by her in everything. She wasn't one of my real close friends but, damn, somebody had to stick up for her. A little after that scene with Dierdre one of my other friends looked over at me and asked if I was going to study at all.

I just shrugged. What was the point? I think they kind of hated me for that. I rarely studied and I still got As and Bs. It wasn't that I wasn't nervous about taking the tests, I just really didn't care much about the outcome. I wasn't interested in getting straigt As. As long as I passed with a C I was happy and the least amount of studing that took, the better. So they would all frantically flip through their notes, muttering to themselves, or quiz each other on Spanish, while I sat and watched with an amused look on my face.

(By the way--Dierdre of course aced her test and I passed everything--I actually got the best grades I ever had in high school during my Senior year. Thank goodness for Art History, Orchestra and Gym, teehee.)

Anyway back to my zen analogy--that is how I see myself. I had been hurt so much in the past (when I was a kid) that by the time I finished junior high I had learned to keep my face perfectly neutral and show no emotion, no matter how much it hurt. One of my favorite episodes of That 70s Show was the one where Hyde teaches Jackie to be zen. His whole lesson on saying "whatever" cracked me up. That is one of my favorite phrases. I say it whenever something bothers me but I can't show it. I can do it just like he describes to Jackie, and I'm damn good at it.

---------
That little bit about Deirdre above got me thinking. This year is my ten year reunion. God, 10 years since I graduated high school. Seems like forever. So far no one is planning anything and I'm sure not going to volunteer. I wonder what my friends are up to. I haven't seen any of them in at least nine years, except for Vasso who I ran into the day my mom died. They are all successful college grads and I'm a SAHM who dropped out (I don't need a college degree to yell at my kids, do I?) and now write horrible fanfic like a smitten teen. Sometimes I think I have lost my mind. Vasso, Lill, Tricia, Jaime, Kelly (gosh I miss the Nick and Dick days and all her poems about Sr. Ellen), Lupe, Dierdre, Julia, Patty, Kate, Betsy, Janette...I'm sure there are more that I'm missing.

And on the topic of lost friendships--I wonder what Jaime V. is doing. The last time I saw him I was 16. My mom called me once when I was living in my little apartment and was totally excited. Jaime had stopped by out of the blue to see how I was. My mom talked to him but, ugh, didn't get a number or address on him. I thought I was goind to explode hearing about that. My heart actually started racing. I hadn't seen or heard from him in at least 5 years. Even now I find myself watching cars go by and wonder if he is in any of them. With my luck we'll move and that's when he'll decide to check up on me. I miss him. I was talking with Kelly the other day about him. We never really went out but there was still something there. I wrote in my story the other day that "first loves are forever" and I think that is true. No matter how many times you fall in love after the first one, or how much you love another person (like my husband) you can't stop thinking about that first true love.

Sometimes he'll pop into my dreams and we'll be 13 again, his arm, casually around my shoulders. It felt good, it felt right. God I put that kid through hell though. I wish I could find him just to apologize for all the crap I pulled.

Well, on that note I better go before I give out too many details, lol.
besides, it's after midnight now and Meagan just came up demanding her cup. I hope she hasn't been awake this whole time.

I worked and worked all day on chapter 12 of "Homecoming." I wrote out a whole scene between Hyde and his girls (5 handwritten) and then I scrapped the whole thing when I got on the computer. The feel just wasn't right. The last two chapters were quick moving. The fight scenes between Jackie and Hyde are so easy to write but then I get bogged down on how to link the different parts. I can't just go from fight to fight--other stuff has to happen inbetween. I finally settled on having Hyde drive around town a little to clear his head. Then he talked with Steve a little before heading home and discussing the fight with Donna.

After Donna leaves Jackie shows up and accepts his apology but doesn't forgive him. But she takes him out to lunch anyway. I still have no clue what the next chapter will bring. Hyde is going to buy Bob's house so that Shawn can be the "scrawny neighbor boy" to his daughter Kelly, but I'm not sure how I'm going to write it in. I'm also not sure how I'm going to have Hyde and Jackie make up. Twenty years of resentment is a lot to just throw off in just a few weeks.

The hardest part is I'm trying to finish it all before June 14th. We're moving that day and then I won't have the internet anymore so I won't be able to update the fanfic site anymore. Those girls would kill me if I didn't finish the story. I actually have two going at the same time but I think I will have to yank the second one since I know I won't be able to get it done in a week.

That leads me into my day...

---------------------
The kids are driving me nuts!
That will probably be the heading for almost every day. The kids always drive me nuts. All Meagan ever does is yell and scream and tell me I'm Cruella Deville. Brenna constantly tells me she hates me then turns around and kisses me and says "sowwy". She is so cute. Owen is just ornery and tears the place up. Sometimes I can't stand them and wish they would go away. But then after a few minutes without them I miss them so much I can't stand it.

Today (or actually yesterday, since it is almost 12:30am) was Sunday so I relaxed and watched the race. I couldn't wait to update Patrick when Jeff Gordon wrecked at the beginning. He is always wishing someone would take Gordon out each week. Today it was Tony Stewart--my new hero, lol. Only because I had the wierdest dream last night. I dreamnt I was a NASCAR driver and I was sitting in a room with all the other drivers. I don't remember much of the dream except in another part I was sitting next to a big guy in orange and confessing that I really didn't know what I was doing and had never driven a race car. He told me it would be okay and it wasn't that hard then he kissed me on the cheek. I hadn't realized how cute Stewart was until that dream. Now I can't stop thinking about him, which cracks me up. Last season I was ready to kill him because of some of the crap he pulled on the track and now I'm dreaming of kissing him--too funny.

Patrick didn't think it was as funny as I did though. The kids only wanted to know if I won the race. I never found out. I started to wake up in the middle of the dream so my mind switched over to story mode and I started working out a story where I met Tony Stewart in a bar after a race and we sat and talked. Then Owen started banging on my door wanting me to make breakfast. Kids--they have no sense. ::muttering:: Interrupting important, potentially erotic dreams. Hmph.

I better go jump in the shower quick now before I go off to bed and dream of race car drivers. I wonder what it meant? It was kind of nice to be dreaming of someone other then Hyde (the kids' new daddy, lol). He's such a hottie. What am I?--15. Geeze I need to grow up. Oh well. Off to the shower. Calgon take me away. Wait, that's a bath. I need sleep.
