Hmmm, interesting idea. I actually read that on facebook and my mind right away started wandering to all the implications of a public Stargate. I've read numerous fanfics about that and... they rarely end well. Not sure the world would be ready for the program to go public so it makes me wonder how that was going to happen.
I would LOVE for the studio to release the scripts so they could be written into novels since they don't seem to have any plans to make the movies. Heck, I'd read just the script just to find out what happens but would much rather have it in novel form.
As much as I wanted a movie I keep thinking (and I mean no disrespect) that RDA is getting a little old to pull off an action flic and I was worried how a Jack-centric film would work. Maybe if it had gone through a few years ago but... sigh, people get older, it's inevitable. I'm only 34 but I couldn't do half the things RDA was doing on Stargate in his 40s and 50s. Sometimes I feel too old.
Maybe... hmmm.... maybe I could use that as the main plot for NaNo this year. I've been worried I won't be able to come up with something elaborate enough to make it to 50k words. I won last year with my still unfinished Stargate novel (still nameless, too... grrrr).
The third Stargate SG-1 movie would have finally revealed the top-secret Stargate program to the world, Stargate executive producer Joseph Mallozzi revealed on his blog this week.
