oh joy...

I thought of something else to ramble on about that has no interest to anybody but me. We got a new vacuum today. With three kids in the house--you can imagine how much we needed it. Ours broke way back before Thanksgiving. The belt was shot but I think the motor was blown on it, too. The thing was made in the early 80s for crying out loud (it was my grandma's). So around Thanksgiving we bought an electric sweeper type thing. It worked great for about 2 weeks and now it won't hold a charge. It can charge for days with the little red light on but the minute you unplug it the light goes out and it only works for about 20 seconds--not even enough time to get the living room. I was so mad.

So today we got a new vacuum. It was only $80 at Wal-mart so not a big deal if it blows up in our faces. Dh vacuumed the living room while I napped today and it looks so nice. He even cleaned the fan ceiling fan with the little duster attachment it came with. Woot!

I really liked the sweeper, though, so we're going to look into getting it repaired. It was great for quick clean-ups after meals (since we still have no kitchen chairs and eat on the living room floor). We think the battery went kablooey already, since it isn't holding a charge. Dh will call their number tomorrow I guess.
