poor Nora

While I was upstairs cleaning the kids' room I sent Owen down to the basement to try and get their laundry. Next thing I heard this loud thudding coming from below us. I heard Owen start yelling for help before I could even get out of the room. I almost fell down the stairs trying to get down and the whole time Owen is screaming, "I need help! Someone help!" That was all I could hear. I was sure he fell down trying to carry the laundry but...

When I got down he wasn't yelling for help for himself. He was screaming for someone to help Nora because she had just rode her little car down the basement stairs! Her only saving grace was that the full laundry bag was laying at the bottom of the stairs and she landed on it, but she banged her face on the wood railing at the bottom and landed on the bike (which is plastic).

She has a huge shiner, big goose egg just above her eye, a huge scrape and bruise on her forehead. She is pretty messed up but seems okay.

She was crying but not because she was really hurt. She just kept screaming, "I fall down. Car fall down the stairs. I fall down the basement!" over and over and over again. She yelled aboug the bike falling down the stairs for several minutes before we calmed her down. She was really upset about it but not seriously hurt mostly because the laundry bag cushioned her fall. Otherwise she would have hit the bottom step and slammed head first into the concret wall (been there done that--not fun).

I'll get a picture later of her injuries. She is such a trooper. She was fine once we gave her some juice and a cheese stick.
