Meagan's birthday
6 Jul 2008 11:39 pmMeagan turned 8 last week. It doesn't really feel like it has been 8 years since I became a mother. I don't know why but Meagan hitting all her milestones never really phased me. I have always looked forward to each new experience. What is really getting me now is that Owen will be 7 in three months. SEVEN! My little boy. That can't be.
Just today he told me he can't wait to see Journey to the Center of the Earth. What happened to the days that his world revolved around catching the next episode of Diego or Higgley Town Heroes? Now he is running around turning every toy into a gun and vegging out while watching Star Wars yet again.
And all that means is that Brenna will be 6 in four months. This one baffles me because when I look at Brenna and talk to her I can barely believe she is five, let alone almost 6. She sure doesn't act like Owen does at six or how Meagan was at six. She seems so young. She still clings to me and follows me everywhere, always needing me in her sight. The baby talk and mumbling and generally being unable to comprehend half of what comes out of her mouth doesn't help. Nora talks better then Brenna half the time. But she is getting better.
And then there is Nora. Her birthday was only 3 months ago so we have time before the next one rolls around but it will be here before I know it and I'll have a 3 year old on my hands. And then it starts all over with Meagan...she'll be 9 next year. We're getting into the "tween" years now and that is kind of scary.
Anyway, here is a scrapbook page I did on Meagan's birthday.

I woke her up just after 8am on her birthday. She didn't want to get up at first and Owen was a little miffed I was making so much noise. He pulled the blanket off of his head and yelled, "hey, I'm trying to sleep here." Meagan finally got up when I told her I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep Nora out of her presents.
After she got up she opened her gifts and she played with them for awhile. Then we went to breakfast at IHOP (her choice) and came home where she vegged out for awhile. Around 1pm she went next door to her best friend's house. Her BFF's birthday was the day before hers. Meagan spent the entire day there at her friend's class party. Then on Meagan's birthday they were having her family party so, since we really had no other plans and weren't throwing her a party, we let her spend the whole day with her BFF. Of course, around 10pm we get the call begging to stay the night. She spent the whole next day over there, too.
She had a great time, I think.
