That they will probably shut our cable/internet off this week or next.  We didn't pay the bill on time (again... long story) and there isn't enough to pay it until next payday which is the 20th.  I think last time it was going to be shut off on the 16th but I don't really remember.  We always paid it before they shut it off.

So, if I disappear it's because of that and will hopefully be back on the 20th.  Hoping to finish up open challenges for any communities that I'm in that are due before the 20th.

Not sure what I'll do with my time without internet.  I guess I'll get some knitting done and have an SG-1 marathon.  Maybe I'll rewatch seasons 1-3 of Atlantis.  I've only gotten through them once (on Syfy... so I'm not sure if I even saw them all).

So, my 8yo, Brenna, was complaining of her back tooth hurting a couple weeks ago.  It looked like she had a cavity but we don't have a dentist here and I wasn't sure which plan we were on (finally found where that information is posted on our medical insurance site since there are different companies that cover dental and vision) so I didn't know how to find one.

She doesn't complain a lot and didn't say much about it after that so, naturally, I completely forgot.  Then she started getting sick with this runny nose.  No big deal.  I had the same cold and so did the 5yo and the baby.  But we got better and she was still kind of sick.  Not usual for my kids... they rarely get sick and always get over it before I do.  But she seemed okay and wasn't complaining.

Then on Sunday night she started saying her ear hurt.  I figured it was just because she still had this cold and her sinuses were draining and causing issues with her ears (the same thing happened to me last month).  I gave her some Tylenol and sent her to bed.  Monday she woke up and said her jaw below her ear and her ear were hurting.  She didn't feel warm or look that bad so I gave her some Tylenol and sent her to school.

She came home and went right to sleep on the couch.  When she woke up a couple hours later I asked her exactly what was hurting her because she looked pale and was hot to the touch.  She told me her jaw again and a little in her one ear.  So I asked her if it was her jaw in general or one of the teeth (since she had complained earlier about her tooth) or something else.  She opened her mouth (which really hurt her) and pointed to her gums BEHIND her tooth.  I was shocked to see them SWELLED way up.  They were higher than the teeth and squishy to the touch.  I didn't want to do too much to them because it hurt her.

I feel so bad for her.  I had no idea it was that bad or even what is wrong with her.  I'm not sure if she is getting teeth in and something is going wrong (although, I'm pretty sure she has all her teeth already and she's a little young to get her wisdom teeth) or if they became abscessed or what but it looks bad.  Her temp was 101.2 when I took it right after that.  Then she tells me she tried to call home after lunch but no one answered.  We were home but we have shitty cell reception so neither of our phones rang and she forgot the number to our new house phone.  I wanted to cry for her because she was obviously miserable all day.

So she stayed home today.  Yesterday she was eating okay, not much of an appetite but she could chew soft foods and wanted to eat.  Today she couldn't even finish her cereal and gave it to her sister.  It didn't help that we ran out of all children's pain meds over night (no Tylenol or Motrin in the house).  Hubby ran to get some this morning and she's feeling a little better with some Motrin in her.  He's taking her over to the local dentist now to see if they can get her in on an emergency basis today.  If not we'll probably have to take her to urgent care but I'm not sure what they would do for her.  She can't eat any more because of the pain and can barely open her mouth.

I just feel bad that I didn't notice the problem before it got so bad.  My kids are rarely ever sick and when they are it's very mild, just colds (runny/stuffy noses and a little cough, maybe a sore throat).  I have no clue what to do when they get really sick.  Our last "major" illness was when Owen got the flu.  That was October 2009 (just after he turned 8).  And he was only sick for like 5 days; I treated it at home.

This is Brenna's first official missed day of school.  She came home sick a couple Friday's ago (because she threw up...no idea why because she was fine once she was home).  With just 2 weeks left of school.  So close to perfect attendance (she missed it last year by just 1 day).  Poor kid.

Made these for a challenge at [livejournal.com profile] stargateland .  After writing the little Daniel/Vala story I thought I could use some more Vala icons (I had 1 of her by herself).
