why do they have to change them?
2 May 2012 09:48 amI woke up this morning to find Jack watching cartoons. He's only recently started sitting still and watching the TV for short periods. Not sure who turned it on but he was watching Spongebob. So for 10 minutes all I heard was "SPONGEBOB!!!!!" over and over. It was one of his first words. Not that he watched a lot of it but the kids have Spongebob shirts and books and other stuff and he started recognizing the character early.
Anyway, it's been awhile since I've watched Nick in the morning when they have the preschool shows on (we also get Nick Jr).
Next up was Max & Ruby which hasn't changed since Meagan was a toddler, lol. And, yes, I LOVE that show. Very free-range with the kids off doing their own things. Although Max is a naughty little thing that is always doing what he's told not to and Ruby is so freaking bossy I want to shove her in a closet sometimes. But otherwise it cracks me up.
Now we're watching Franklin. I remember watching this with Meagan, Owen and Brenna when they were little. Except now they changed it. They made it computer animated/3D. WHY? What the hell was wrong with the original drawn one. Are studios that lazy any more that they'd rather just do all cartoons on the computer? Disney did the same thing with Mickey Mouse. I also saw it with Looney Tunes (Roadrunner cartoons in the 3D look... ugh).
The voices are all the same but the animation is so crappy I can't stand to look at it and this show was so cute back then. Do they really think kids today prefer this look? Because mine don't. They think it's a
gimmick and that the shows look stupid. They'd rather watching something else. Even Jack didn't seem all that interested in Franklin but he stood and watched Max & Ruby for a good 10 minutes. Same with Spongebob. I should just get up and change the channel already before I get a migraine from the stupidity of this show.
[oh, completely unrelated: Jack keeps running into the kitchen and sneaking handfuls of Fruit Loops from the cereal cabinet. I guess no one fed him this morning before I got up. Not sure I should give him some real food or let him fill up on the cereal, lol]
