750 words and word counts
30 Mar 2013 10:14 pmRemember how I had that little freak out over 750words.com going to pay only in March? Well, I was so upset Patrick let me by 24 cups of coffee (the equivalent of years of membership for when the site locked out free users). Since then I've put the whole thing out of my head. Today I logged in to see the pushed the deadline for pay-only to May. AND they're giving everyone that is a member before May 1st a free lifetime account. It said in the original FAQ that they would do that but I really didn't think they would when they started talking pay site back in February. I didn't blame them since there were a lot of users and that's lost revenue. Although the regular users were all willing to pay anyway.
So, now I get a free account and won't have to stress over having enough money to keep paying for the site and can continue to donate when we do have the money.
I love that site. Tomorrow will be my 90th day straight of writing. Over 1000 words every day. Right now my total is around 197k for the year. I'm not going to hit 200k before April. I don't think I can write 3000 words right now. It's been a struggle to write anything the last week or so and it keeps getting worse. I keep pushing through it but I also have to keep starting new things because I can't concentrate on other stuff. Hopefully I'll find my groove again and finish some of these.
Oh, yeah, about my word count.
I was just looking at the spreadsheet for
getyourwordsout. As of the end of February I was 57% done with my pledge of 250k words. I had 142k words at that point. I checked all the other pledge amounts and I had the most words out of anybody. The next closes was someone pledging 500k who had 137k.
I'm just... I've never written so much and it keeps amazing me that I did it at all. I'm afraid I'm going to lose my streak soon. The last three or four nights I've almost forgotten to write at all and have had to force myself. I decided to do Camp NaNo to edit my novel. I need to write half of the scenes from Colby's POV so there's a lot still to write. My goal is 35k words.
