I had a goal to keep up with school work this week so it would all be done by Saturday night so I could watch the Super Bowl without having to worry about things being due.
Amazingly, I have done that. I have one discussion post thing to do in my fiction class, and the only thing I have to do in the other class is the video. I've made a bunch of notes for the video script, but I'm procrastinating on writing it. I want it done so I can record tomorrow night. It's on my "digital identity," so it's not hard, just having trouble organzing it all. Plus it has to use evidence from the "text" which is a blog series and two TED talks which makes adding that stuff in a pain.
Yesterday was my brother's 36th birthday. He forgot all about it until a friend texted him yesterday morning. I texted him while I was doing homework at the library. I think dad got him a ukulele because he really wanted one. I still can't believe we are closing in on 40 (two years for me, four for him--yikes).
I started playing Kingdom of Loathing again which is a real timesuck. I forgot how hilarious it is, though. I have three characters running at once: a "Turtle Tamer" named TaTaLaLa, a "Disco Bandit" named Chicadea, and a "Pastamancer" named Rig A Toni. There is just so much win in this game.
I updated my getyourwordsout totals just now. I had forgotten all about signing up until last week. Oops. I have 5000 words wrote so far and that was mainly the first and second drafts of my workshops story. I better find something to work on. I have so many unfinished stories, but I have trouble concentrating on them when I'm worrying about doing homework.
I can't stop watching this video.
I wish there had been teachers like this when I was in high school.
I've been binge-watching Bones and Castle. I stopped watching both back in 2013 because of reasons. Then I was too far behind so I kept not watching. Well, my husband got me watching again on TNT. I'm into episodes I haven't seen of Castle now. Bones is in season 4 which I've seen, but it's been so long I forgot what happens.
In related news, Brenna (12) is hooked on Castle. She wants to watch it all of the time. And she got Owen (13) watching it last night. I find this humerous for some reason.
In more related new, I keep forgetting Brenna is twelve, and it felt really weird to write that Owen is thirteen. This November I will have three teenagers!
It hit me last night that I only have one more term after this one, which is half over now. They are opening registration for the May-July term, and I realized I didn't need to sign up for everything. I have to petition to graduate by March to get my diploma in May. It costs $150. Just four months to go. Two more classes: Survey in American Lit and Intro to Anthropology. And so far my grades are okay (not sure how my 2nd draft of my story will do--I was really sick when I was finishing it, and I'm not sure if it even made sense) so I might still graduate with high honors. Fingers crossed.
I haven't eaten today. It's 8pm. Okay, that's a lie. I had three cookies and a few handfulls of white cheddar Cheetos. But I've had no realy food today. I'm kind of hungry now. Going to go make a grilled turkey and swiss on rye in a few minutes.
Still procrastinating on writing my video script.
