Grrr. I spent all day yesterday researching literary theory for my paper that's due at the end of the term. I need an annotated bibliography of at least three items by Sunday. So I search my public library catalog which has like squat on the subject. I do find two books that I think could help with terminology and stuff. I put on one hold, but the other was at the branch I've been going to when I need to study. I thought about going yesterday after I found the book and picking it up but decided to wait.

So I get here, go right to the shelf and it's not there. The fuck? So I check the catalog and someone put a fucking hold on it since I last looked. Fuck that. I need the book now. Or at least in the next two weeks which I doubt will happen. We get 3 weeks to keep a book and then if we want we can renew it for 3 more weeks, up to nine weeks. And half the time no one returns books when they are due because there are no overdue fines so what difference does it make.

Should have gone yesterday.

If it works anything like ours, as long as you put the hold on it, they won't be able to renew it and it will let them know another user needs it.
