I decided to do this [community profile] snowflake_challenge  this month to kickstart this blog and just have something to do. The first challenge was to update your profile which I did here.

Today's goal is to make a post about goals for the year. This is a much more difficult task for me. As I mentioned in my New Year's post (friend-locked), I have some serious chronic fatigue that disrupts every part of my life. It doesn't matter how much I sleep at night, nap during the day, or how much coffee I drink, I'm tired all of the time. I get maybe one or two hours in the morning before the brain fog sets in which makes it hard to think. I describe it as trying to think through molasses. Nothing makes sense anymore. My reflexes slow down, both physically and mentally. It really sucks.

I have no idea how I will feel from one day to the next so setting goals is difficult. I can say I'll write every day, but that's unrealistic because the brain fog might be so bad tomorrow, I can't make a coherent sentence.

That being said, I'll try to come up with some very basic goals to try for.

Health Goals:
  • take my medications every day (so many pills)
  • where my CPAP mask every night
  • try to walk to the nearest Pokestop as often as I can when the weather warms up (they just added so many stops and gyms to my neighborhood)
  • eat less junk food
  • leave my room more often
  • make appointments for checkups with all of my doctors
Writing Goals:
  • continue my daily journal at 4thewords.com
  • brainstorm any idea that comes to mind even if I never plan to write the story
  • attempt to finish 6 small stories (1000 words or less) this year
  • add to one of my WIPs 6 times this year (any amount of words or editing)--already did this once on the 1st
Fandom Goals:
  • reblog stuff I like on Tumblr instead of just liking everything
  • make more comments on AO3 instead of just kudos
  • avoid fandom stuff that is toxic and just enjoy things on my own without getting involved (so many of my fandoms lately)
Other Goals:
  • keep up my DuoLingo Japanese streak
  • reset my WaniKani lessons and/or buy a subscription to continue new lessons

Ugh, none of that stuff is really hard, but it looks like so much when some days I barely have the energy to get out of bed. It's the best I can do, and I don't even know if half of that is achievable. But I guess I have to start somewhere.
