the rain keeps falling on my head...
3 Jan 2006 10:41 amI swear it has beein raining almost non stop since Christmas here in good ole' PA. It is so gloomy out all the time that we have to have the lights on in the house because it seems like really early in the morning or really late at night. Well, except for when the stupid sign out front comes on around 5pm, then it's like frickin' bright as summer in the living room.
Actually, I don't think it is raining right now, so that is good. I had to stand in the rain for 10 minutes waiting for Meagan's bus yesterday because we only have one umbrella and I let her use it. My jacket was still soaking when I picked her up a few hours later. It sure doesn't seem like the middle of winter out there. The temps have pretty much been in the 40s.
I'll have to check and see what they are right now because I need to run to the grocery store real quick and if the weather isn't that bad I can go after we drop Meagan at the bus stop in an hour. If it is too cold I have to wait until dh gets home at 3pm to do it.
I think I'll try and take the tree down today. It is depressing me. We haven't even had it lit up. We turned the lights on maybe 5 times in the 3 weeks it has been up. I'm so glad Christmas is over. Now I can focus on doing our taxes--yippee. I usually don't mind doing taxes. I did them online the last couple of years, but this time we have to claim in two states. When we moved in 2000 it was such a pain to do two different state taxes--not looking forward to it.
Hopefully we'll get a few thousand back. I don't expect to get nearly as much as last year (almost $6000) but any little bit helps. We might use some of it to finally get a couch. My back is killing me from sitting on the floor all the time. Or it might go to new beds for the kids. Owen is sleeping on the floor right now and the girls have destroyed their toddler mattresses. I think it is time they moved to twin beds--we just can't afford them.
Oh well. Story of our lives. Gotto go make sure the kids are picking up and Meagan is getting ready for school.
