NASCAR season
18 Jan 2006 01:37 pmWell, the NASCAR season is almost upon us. I need to go find a NASCAR Illustrated or something so I can get all the driver switches straight. I am so confused as who is where and driving what car anymore. I can't keep track of it.
I'm a little peeved though that they are putting the dual qualifiers only on Speed Network because Comcast doesn't offer that unless you buy thier "sports" pack which is 10 channels of stuff we wouldn't watch (except Speed) for $5 extra bucks a month. Stupid Comcast. :( Oh well.
Brenna is going to be a little upset though. She is a big Bobby Labonte fan. I have no idea why, but she is. When she was a toddler (like that was so long ago, lol) she would always point to the green car and I would tell her that is Bobby Labonte. Pretty soon she learned to say his name, which still sounds like Bobby Bonny or Bobby Babonny. She only know which car is his by the color. We even got her one of those large collector cars to play with (the ones that are priced $15-$20).
Owen is an Elliot Sadler fan. He loves the color yellow and picked out the "candy candy" car for his own (he finally got one of the collector ones for Christmas after asking for almost a year--we could never find one). He also has a Kyle Petty and a Junior Busch car, too. Owen is so funny. When he was little he created his own driver--Kyle McJunior. He would race his two cars and tell me that Kyle McJunior won. Cracks me up everytime.
Meagan is a huge Jamie McMurray fan. She thinks he is cute with his "sticking up hair" and hates to see him in a hat, lol. She's only 5. We even found a magazine that had a poster of him and bought it, but I never hung the poster up.
We are such a NASCAR family. We all root for different drivers and teams but enjoy sitting down together on Sunday (if dh is lucky enough to have off for part of the race). It gives me and dh a lot to talk about during the week. I hate the off season. I get so bored, lol. During the season I so look forward to Sunday's. When we had Dish Network and the Speed channel I looked forward to qualifing, too.
I just can't wait. And I hope Brenna isn't too disappointed that Babby isn't in his green car anymore.

Date: 18 Jan 2006 07:33 pm (UTC)Usually it's just my mother and I watching NASCAR together, at least it was until I got a job and had to work every Sunday. One of the reasons I like night races- I'm home to watch them. :)
