I'm back

So, yeah, my hiatus wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be.  My husband decided, in his great wisdom, to not just end out contract with Frontier but to cancel our internet at the very moment he was talking to them.  Which happened to be right in the middle of me responding to someone on LJ, lol.  That was around lunch time on Tuesday.  Then he texts me later saying they'd be here on Friday to hook us up.

So now we have Direct TV and Comcast internet (which is much faster than what Frontier had).

AND they were both prompt and professional and very nice.  When he made the appointment for Direct TV he entered 8am-12pm.  The guy arrived at 8:10am as I was trying to get the kids out the door for the bus.  It was crazy in the house.  It's the last Friday of the year, Brenna had a field trip today and was bouncing off the walls, Meagan's friend Jamie was here and all the kids were just going bonkers.

I showed him where all the outlets were that we were going to use and he reattached the satellite dish we already had (the roofers took it off a few months ago).  Just as he was getting the living room TV hooked up (with the HD DVR) the Comcast guy arrive.  That was around 9:30am.  He had some issue with the computer not wanting to let go off the connection it had to the old modem but he got it figured out and by 11am we were all hooked up and went out to lunch then to Best Buy to look for a modem/router to save the $7/month fee for using Comcast's modem.  Found one and it was easy to hook up (unlike previously... every other time we've changed modems with Comcast we had issues and had to call which would have been a problem this time with our lack of cell phone coverage).

So, instead of being offline for a month and a half I was gone for like 3 days.  And I was so freaking bored.  I did get through all of season 1 of Atlantis and the first 4 episodes of season 2 and knitted half a sweater.  Nora was driving me nuts, though, without being able to watch Spongebob and iCarly.  Oy.

Sorry I didn't get any writing done, though.  I had another sore throat (that's the third or fourth one since April and it's getting on my nerves) which zapped me of energy.  I've got a few stories started and maybe I'll be able to concentrate now that I'm not worrying about the internet cutting out at any moment.

YAY! I was just going to send you an email on the chance that you could find a few bars via your phone, but YAY!

I reeeeealllly hope you don't have to pay Frontier/AT&T's early termination fee. Continuing to charge you even during the months they were planning to disconnect service, all after forcing you into paperless statements without email billing is NOT service; it's fraud.

Yay! also to SGA and knitting, but boo to your sore throat. Hope it's not a symptom of some insidious mold infestation in your home.
