scrapbook pages: fall time

Thought I'd post some more scrapbook pages while I procrastinate from cleaning and writing. The theme today is fall time. Because I felt there needed to be a theme.

Halloween 2003

We always loved to go for walks in the woods around Chicago. 2003 ended up being a gorgeous fall and we went on many walks in the woods because it was so warm all of October.

Thanksgiving 2004...well, a little after. My mother in law came for the holiday. We were getting ready to take her to the train station when I snapped this picture. Owen was 3, Meagan was 4 and Brenna was 2.

I remember this day so clearly...it was the day after Brenna's 4th birthday. The weather was gorgeous (we were living outside of Pittsburgh at the time) so I took the kids outside to play in the leaves which they had never done before we had no trees around my dad's house. It was also the only chance they got because our landlord cut the tree down while we were out of town for Christmas the next month. :(
They were 6, 5, 4 and 7 month

Halloween 2008...Brenna wearing the witch costume I made for Meagan in 2007. She was so excited. Nora wore that costume in 2010. Meagan was 7 when I made it, Brenna was almost 6 when she wore it and Nora was 4 1/2. It fit them all the same.

Halloween 2008...Owen in his Darth Vader costume. It's the only costume any of the kids had that was one of those cheap store bought things (other than the Tigger costume they all wore) but it was a hand me down from some neighbors. And I made the cape. He was 7 this year, his 2nd year of wearing it.

When we lived in Pennsylvania we loved to go to some of the parks in the towns around us. Brady's Run Park was our favorite. It had this great creek running through it that the kids loved to splash in when it was warm. I loved that the little playgrounds at the picnic areas were old school...tall, metal slides; swingsets with wood seats and real see-saws. The only thing missing were the merry-go-rounds. The kids LOVED it. We were having a picnic the day I took that picture.

around Halloween 2007...Nora was 7 months old. We were getting ready to go trick or treating, I think. Nora decided that day (the Thursday before Halloween) was the perfect day to start sitting up on her own and crawling. Oy

This was a couple days after Thanksgiving 2006. The weather was amazing. I think it was in the mid-60s. In Pennsylvania at the end of November! The kids had a blast at the park.

Halloween 2008...I took so many great pictures that day. The weather was so wonderful. I remember I took Nora with me to watch the kids in their costume parade at school. We got there early so I was taking pictures of her. They turned out so beautiful because it was a clear day and it was warm so she was in only a hoodie.

Halloween 2008 (duh). Meagan missed pictures because she threw a huge fit about putting on her costume and then pouted when we went outside so I sent her back inside. She almost didn't come with us.

This is one of the last pages I ever scrapped. It was Brenna's 7th birthday. It turned out to be in the low-70s so we opted to go for a walk in the woods. I got a lot of good shots...see below

This was a 2-page spread I did for our walk. I never do 2-page spreads and rarely do cluttered layouts with lots of pictures but there were so many from our walk I wanted to use. Look, there's even a picture of me, lol (my husband...at least it's of my face, normally he takes butt and boob shots, lol).
Meagan was 9, Owen was 8, Brenna was 7 and Nora was 3 1/2.

Date: 24 Nov 2011 06:01 am (UTC)For all that today's moms seem to favor the one or two child family, I just think of the many memories and relationships that larger families bring, and I find that there is a richness there that I wouldn't change for the world.
I have three brothers and two sisters (spread over two sides of the family) and I wouldn't be able to do without a single one of them.
