This story is the first in a planned series inspired by the writers30days  challenge.  This is prompt: writer's choice #1 and eventually I'll use all 15 prompts.  The stories take place in an alternate reality that is much different than our own but still has our favorite group of intrepid explorers out there... exploring.  Oh, and Kawalsky, too.
