22 – Have you ever participated in a fest or a Big Bang? If so, write about your favorite experience in relation to one. If not, are there any you've thought about doing? And if not, why not?Well, I'm supposed to be doing the het_bigbang right now but I still have zero words written, lol. I hope to focus on it eventually.
I do NaNoWriMo every year, though. My first was in 2005 and I finished about 22k words with a That 70s Show fanfic. In 2006 and 2007 I barely even cracked a couple thousand words but in 2008 I won for the first time with an Angel fanfic (All the Time in the World) that I have yet to finish. Well, I ended it and all that but there are so many holes to fill up. In 2009 I wrote an original sci-fi story (won but didn't finish the story). Last year I wrote an epic SG-1 fic that I have yet to finish. I won NaNo with 56k words but the story is only about half done. And with NaNo coming up fast again this year I doubt I get around to finishing it.
I tend to stay to myself when doing these big challenges so I don't have any great stories to tell. I think my favorite experience was printing off the NaNo certificate of completion in 2008 when I won for the first time. I happened to have a sheet of fancy paper that came with my new printer and I used that and hung it proudly on my bulletin board in my room. I couldn't stop beaming all day.
