heading for the coast

Surprisingly Patrick was okay with going to the beach today.  I'm shocked.  Although he complained that EVERYONE will be there which is true.  It's going to make finding a parking space tough.

We're leaving kind of late.  It's after 9:30am here and it takes 1 1/2-2 hours to get to the beach.  And that means we get there at lunch time and everyone is cranky and hungry.

Of course, the cranky has started early.  We had to wake Meagan and Owen and now they are both pouting and throwing fits because they don't want to go.  Owen would rather stay here so he can go to a local swimming hole (on a river) with his friends.  He can do that any time.  In fact he spent all afternoon there yesterday and has gone a dozen times this summer.  This is probably our last trip to the coast for the year.  Meagan doesn't want to sit in the car and says she went swimming all day yesterday so she doesn't want to go today.

I just can't win.

Hopefully I'll get to enjoy this trip somehow.
