it's a thing

My 10yo daughter Brenna is bringing back a trend from the 70s. And I bet she totally succeeds in our neighborhood.
She's introducing Pet Rocks.

That's George. Isn't he cute?
Someone gave her this really cool rock and she was pretending it was like a baby which was really funny, and really a Brenna-thing to do. When I saw it I just pictured this face on it so she let me draw it on and George was born.
I had to do the whole Loony Tunes thing (although paraphrased)...I will love him and hug him and call him George. I was just joking around but she immediately started calling him George.
Anyway, now her and Meagan are fighting over this rock (which slept in my room last night for it's own protection) and I can picture the other kids finding big rocks like this so I can draw faces on them. Then their friends will see them and want one.
And it will be a thing again.
All thanks to Brenna, age 10.
EDIT:
I knew this would be a thing. Nora now has her own pet rock. And the girls' friend, Grace (11), just made one for herself. She said, "I decided I need more friends."
Told you.
