Thank god the holidays are over. I'm exhausted. It's 9pm on the 26th and this is the first I've had a chance to get on the computer since the 23rd some time.

Anyway, I got up at like 9am on the 24th then hung out with the kids in the kitchen until around noon. Then I baked cookies until around 6pm. My brother and dad arrived a little after that. We finally got dinner finished at like 7pm, but by then I was feeling sick. My stomach had been bothering me since the night before. All day on the 24th, I had maybe six or seven cookies to eat. At dinner, I was so ill I couldn't eat. I felt like I was already stuffed and couldn't force another bite down. I sat with the family and ate one polish sausage link since my dad had fresh (not smoked) polish sausage flown in from Chicago. I hadn't had any in years and it was so good. I almost couldn't finish it, though. I didn't eat anything else all night.

My dad and brother stayed until midnight. Each of us got $25 from him, except for Jack who got some Mario figures (he went ballistic when he opened a Luigi one--his favorite character) and a model car. After they left, I spent two hours wrapping and putting gifts out. I couldn't believe it took that long since there were very few gifts. It took longer because I felt so sick and kept having to stop and rest. I collapsed after that.

Jack woke me up at about 8am on Christmas. He stands next to my head and goes, "Mommy wake up." I open my eyes and he's hopping up and down. "Guess what... SANTA CAME! There's presents, come on!" How could I say no to that?

My kids amaze me sometimes (well most of the time, the other times I'm jut befuddled by them). Compared to every other Christmas, they got next to nothing this year. There wasn't a single complaint, and everyone loved everything they got.

They each got an outfit from Goodwill, pajamas from Walmart, and a $30 gift (legos for the younger 4, gift card for Meagan). Then they got some candy and a small gift in their stockings. Also two board games (Scrabble and Clue).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nymaeria, we were also able to get them four movies (Fault in Our Stars, Malifecent, The Lego Movie, and Wolverine). They've mostly seen them, but wanted to watch them again. Also I hadn't seen any of them. Patrick got Guardians of the Galaxy for himself, lol.

After gifts, I went back to bed because I still felt sick. I was able to force down most of a large cinnamon roll, but that was it. I slept until 5pm. Once I got up, I felt well enough to eat something. I didn't take much because of how I felt and didn't finish my plate. At least I got to taste some of the stuff I spent all day cooking. We watched Malifecent and The Lego Movie. Nora also got me and Patrick to play Clue with her. I think I crashed around 10pm.

Today I woke up at like 9am, but refused to get out of bed until 11. I felt better, though, so I had a big lunch. I spent the day playing games with the kids. Scrabble, this card game the kids got years ago that we'd never played, and The Walking Dead game (that they got last year). I finally told Nora I couldn't play any more because my back was killing me from sitting on the hard chair.

I am so freaking tired right now. And hungry. I just realized I haven't eaten anything but a piece of pie and some cookies since lunch. Maybe I'll make up a little bowl of meat and potatoes.

It sounds like a very nice, if not exactly relaxing, Christmas. Glad to hear your kids all appreciated their gifts! I hope you've had a chance to relax a little more in the interim.

Happy New Year!
