I live in the Pacific Northwest. It's been near 70 degrees the last week and a half. And beautifully sunny. The kids are out in shorts and tank tops, and all of the flowers in the neighborhood are blooming.

We normally have mild winters with temperatures in the low- to mid-40s and rainy most of the time. This winter was more mild than usual minus the sub-freezing temperatures we had in November (which was odd because we don't usually get that weather until January). It's barely rained all winter and now spring is looking dry. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and 60 degrees, then it's back up to high 60s/low 70s.

For comparison, last year on Meagan's birthday (June 28) I was still wearing a hoodie and it was only in the upper 60s. I think it rained all week because I usually put the tent up for the kids on the last week of school which is the week before her birthday and they barely used it because it leaked. Summer doesn't really get going until July when it climbs into the 80s.

So this weather is kind of freaky. I'm scared to think of the temperatures in June if it's already in the 70s in March. I'm not complaining right now because it's gorgeous outside--the kids are loving it--but if it doesn't start raining soon we're going to be in for a major drought this summer. It's always dry and fire is a threat, but this is apparently the dryest winter on record for our area.

My niece says it's supposed to snow in Missouri tonight/tomorrow. Apparently the eastern half of the country stole winter from us.
