So, I've been rewatching Star Trek Enterprise. I know it's basically heresy to that say not only did I like the show, but it's my favorite incarnation of Star Trek. I'm not ashamed.

Last night I watched one of my all-time favorite episodes: Harbinger. There are so many great scenes, most of all this one:

I replayed this several times last night just to watch Trip's expressions, then to listen to their dialogue and inflections. The faces crack me up. And T'Pol gets all snarky with him. Also: "I'm jealous... of myself?"

It's probably my favorite scene, being a Trip/T'Pol shipper, but there were others. There's one where the two of them are doing some diagnostic or something where she confronts him about his "relationship" with Corporal Cole. She's obviously a little jealous, and Trip's is really playing it up.

Then there's a scene with Trip and Malcolm in the mess when Malcolm asks him about his relationship with Cole, which Trip denies. Malcolm implies there is more going on with the neuro-pressure thing, and Trip stupidly asks if Malcolm thinks there's something going on between him and T'Pol. To which Malcolm replies, "that's the rumor." I know it's kind of dumb, but I was laughing so hard at the whole conversation.

And, of course, there's the epic beat-down Malcolm gives to Major Hayes. Okay, the beat the crap out of each other, but in the middle of it they stop an alien from destroying the ship. At the end Archer gives them a major dressing-down then walks out of the room leaving them at attention. They both stand there for a few seconds before Malcolm asks if that means they're dismissed.

The whole episode is made of awesome.

Eh, I'm gonna pass on seeing the 2nd Abrams movie that ganked its story from Wrath of Khan & whitewashed the lead guest role. It would just make me mad.

I haven't seen TOS in forever; I really adored its scripts & its earnestness.

OMG, the movie was so cheesy with the throwbacks to the originals. I knew exactly what was coming and was falling out of my chair laughing. Which probably wasn't their intent. But I still enjoyed them. Eyerolls and everything.

I haven't watched TOS all the way through since high school. It would come on after school for like 6 hours or something. I set the VCR to record them all and would watch on the weekend. My dad thought I was nuts. He might have actually still had those recordings when he moved.

I just adore William Shatner in any incarnation.

Oh, and the Enterprise episode I'm watching right now sets up the whole backstory of Kahn. Brent Spiner guest stars at Dr. Soong. God, I love Brent Spiner so much.
