update about stupid doctor bill
19 Jan 2006 09:08 pmDh called them today about the $60.75 we supposedly owe and they said it is correct and we have to pay it. So he called the insurance company and they said the same thing. I am so angry. It is all so stupid. We have to pay this bill twice because they screwed up with the insurance company. They said something about how the insurance was really supposed to pay x amount but didn't so we are liable for the difference.
I don't understand how we are responsible to pay this twice. They charged us $108 up front to have the surgery. That bugged be to begin with because the point of having insurance is to not have to pay up front (unless you have a co-pay). They they refunded us $47 or something. The difference being $60.75. So we paid their dang $60. Now they want us to pay it again. WTF! I am just so pissed. And I just do not understand how this can be.
On a good note--dh got us enrolled in the budget plan for our gas bill so we only have to pay $123 this month instead of $345. But of course now our gas bill will always be over $100. Over the summer it was about $30. It is going to totally screw up our summer budget. Oh well.

Date: 20 Jan 2006 02:12 pm (UTC)Match up that record of payments to your own records, and if you see that the upfront payment is the discrepancy, provide them with the evidence it was made. Doctor's offices SUCK at tracking payments. I'm currently waiting on one that has apparently decided that I didn't make my copay for a particular office visit (even though they don't let you out of the front office without making the damn the copay).
