Anyone want to take a look at a story?  SG-1, of course.

It's got a bunch of warnings tacked to it, though: mentions of torture, rape, violence towards children and other adult situations.  Nothing real graphic just a bit vivid on descriptions that might be a bit much for some people.

I'm almost done with the story and should, hopefully, be finished with the first draft tonight and then I'll go over it.  It's turning out a lot longer than I planned (who would have thought).  This one is completely different than any other story I've ever written.  Kind of an experiment.

Anyone interested?

Cool. I'll email it to you when I get it done. I'm still working on the other one. I have a lot written, just most isn't typed up. But this story hit me and it was just one of those that HAD to be written NOW!

I could read it, but given that my knowledge of Stargate comes primarily from other fanfic, it would more be a general editing look than a fandom-specific look.

Hey, Deirdre...if you're really bored you could look over the ones I posted because I was reading over one the other night and MY GOD the errors. Once I'm done with this story I have to go back and reedit the ones I have posted.

You always think you've caught all the little mistakes but you never do. I was so embarrassed reading my own story. I couldn't believe I posted it like that.

You never notice the errors in your own work (well, without a good break in between writing and editing) because you read what's supposed to be there rather than what actually is there. I do it myself all the time. When I actually had a job in which I was both writing and editing for a living, each of us always had another editor edit our articles because that is such a common problem.

I can take a look through your older stuff. ;)

I'd totally appreciate that. I was going to make a post asking if anyone wanted to help me out. Because I know I can look over them and catch some of the mistakes but there will be more I miss.

I've never had betas before now so I have always relied on my own eyes.
