Finally...
10 Feb 2012 09:03 ammuch writing finished.
Determined to actually get some writing done last night I turned my TV off after Holmes on Homes finished (that would be 6pm) and forced myself to get to work. Which wasn't all that easy with the kids coming in every few minutes asking me things they could have asked their father (who was in the family room with them).
Anyway I got three (YES THREE!) stories done last night. I'll be typing them up and posting them today (at least the first 2 because they are due tonight for
stargateland).
PREVIEWS:
Story #1: Daniel and Rodney getting into trouble. Fun stuff.
Daniel glanced over the edge of the book at McKay. The other man had changed a lot since the first time they had met all those years ago—he'd put on a little weight and a little muscle and seemed almost completely at ease in BDUs with a 9mm strapped to his thigh—but, in most ways, he was still Rodney McKay. Annoying. Arrogant. Always trying Daniel's patience.
Story #2: Sam and Jack set during SGU time. In a diner.
The woman tried to hide a giggle but failed miserably. The sound caused Jack's heart to skip a beat. It was music--a song he hadn't heard in a long time.
Story #3: Summer 1956, Minnesota
Overhead a loud screech caught his attention. He stood up, a grubby hand moving to shield his eyes from the sun. He watched a hawk circle high above. Up where the clouds floated, where the rain started. Almost to outer space.
Now to actually type them up. Already Nora and Jack have tried to stop me numerous times. Jack's been super clingy lately wanting me to constantly hold him which is not conducive to typing at all. It was hard enough writing last night with him climbing all over me, banging into my arm. Right now their in the girls' room fighting. Nora's trying to clean and I bet Jack is trying to play with the toys. Either way their both screaming at each other.
All right, back to work.

Date: 11 Feb 2012 05:33 pm (UTC)We lived on opposite sides of the country for most of our adult lives. He moved out here (to Oregon) in 1998. I was in Missouri at the time then moved back to Chicago in 2000. Between 1998 and 2010 I had seen him a grand total of 3 times.
In 1999 when I went home for a family reunion. In 2000 when our mom died. And in 2006 when our dad had a heart attack. We hung out twice last year.
I just hope my kids stay close as they get older.

Congrats!

Date: 11 Feb 2012 05:36 pm (UTC)I have to find a new routine because last year I was writing after everyone was in bed so I was routinely staying up until 2am then getting up for the day around 7am. Now I go to bed around 11pm so I can, hopefully, get more sleep.
Starting next week hubby's schedule changes so not sure how that will work. Right now he gets home around 3pm and at 5pm I escape and have been writing the last 2 days. Now he'll be working days and get home around 10pm (I think). That means I'm on my own with the kids ALL day. I'll have to figure something out.
It might work okay since hubby won't be home to control the TV in the family room so they will be happy as clams watching their shows until bedtime while I write. We'll see.
